5 Days Tour from Fes to Marrakech via the Merzouga Desert

Your journey starts in the morning with pickup from your hotel or riad in Fes. You will leave the city and drive towards the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop will be in Ifrane, a very clean and calm town that looks more like Europe than Morocco, with its modern houses and beautiful parks.

After that, you continue to the Cedar Forest near Azrou, where you will have the chance to see wild monkeys living freely in the forest. It is a nice place to walk, take photos, and relax in nature.

The road continues to Midelt, a small town between mountains, where you will stop for lunch. In the afternoon, you will drive through the Ziz Valley, one of the most beautiful valleys in Morocco, full of palm trees and small Berber villages.

By the end of the day, you will arrive in Merzouga, where the Sahara Desert begins. Here, you will ride camels and cross the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will stop to enjoy a beautiful sunset in the desert before reaching your camp. At night, you will enjoy a traditional dinner, music around the fire, and sleep in a comfortable desert tent under the stars.

You will wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, which is a very peaceful and unforgettable moment. After breakfast at the camp, you will leave the desert and continue your journey.

The first stop will be in Rissani, a traditional town known for its old market. It is a good place to see local life and how people still trade in a traditional way.

Then you will drive to Todra Gorges, a very famous natural place with high rock walls and a small river. You can walk between the cliffs and enjoy the fresh air and amazing views.

Later, you continue to Dades Valley, known for its beautiful landscapes and old kasbahs. This area is often called the valley of a thousand kasbahs. You will spend the night in a local hotel or guesthouse, where you can relax and enjoy dinner.

After breakfast, you will continue your trip through more beautiful places. First, you pass by the Rose Valley, which is famous for its roses and local products like rose water and perfumes. If you visit in spring, you may even see the rose festival.

Then you head to Skoura, a green oasis full of palm trees and old kasbahs. It is a very calm and authentic place, perfect to understand traditional life in southern Morocco.

In the afternoon, you arrive in Ouarzazate, often called the Hollywood of Morocco because many movies were filmed there. You can visit Taourirt Kasbah and see the outside of the famous film studios. Dinner and overnight stay will be in a hotel in Ouarzazate.

Today you will visit one of the most famous places in Morocco, Ait Ben Haddou. This is a very old and beautiful kasbah, recognized by UNESCO. Many movies and series were filmed here, and it is a great place to walk and take photos.

After the visit, you will continue driving through the High Atlas Mountains. The road goes through Tizi n’Tichka pass, which offers amazing views of mountains, valleys, and small villages.

You will arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon or evening. You will check in to your riad or hotel and have time to rest after a long but beautiful day.

On the last day, you will explore Marrakech with a local guide. This city is full of history, culture, and life. You will visit important places like the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square.

The square is always full of energy, with street performers, food stalls, and local people. You will also walk through the souks, where you can find traditional items like carpets, spices, clothes, and handmade crafts.
