9 Days Morocco Itinerary from Casablanca

Your tour starts in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco. First, you will visit the famous Hassan II Mosque, which is one of the biggest mosques in the world and located next to the ocean. It is a very beautiful place where you can take nice photos and learn about Moroccan architecture.

After that, you will drive to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. In Rabat, you will visit important historical places like the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and you will see the Royal Palace from outside. The city is calm and clean, very different from Casablanca. You will spend your night in a comfortable hotel or riad.

After breakfast, you will leave Rabat and travel north to Chefchaouen, also known as the Blue City. The road is very nice, passing through the Rif Mountains with beautiful landscapes.

When you arrive, you will start exploring the blue streets of Chefchaouen. The city is very peaceful and perfect for walking and taking pictures. You can visit the main square, relax in a small café, and enjoy the fresh mountain air. At night, you will stay in a traditional riad inside the medina.

Today you leave the blue city and drive towards Fes. On the way, you will stop at Volubilis, where you will see ancient Roman ruins. This place is very interesting and shows how people lived many years ago in Morocco.

After that, you continue to Meknes, one of the imperial cities. Here you will visit Bab Mansour, one of the most beautiful gates in Morocco, and see the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Later, you continue your journey to Fes, where you will spend the night in a riad.

This day is dedicated to exploring Fes, one of the oldest cities in Morocco. You will visit the Royal Palace gate, then enter the old medina, which is like a maze full of small streets.

You will see Al Quaraouiyine University, the oldest university in the world, and visit the famous tanneries where leather is made in a traditional way. You will also walk through local markets full of colors, smells, and handmade products. After a full day, you return to your riad for overnight stay.

After breakfast, you travel towards the Sahara Desert. The journey is long but very beautiful. First stop is Ifrane, a clean and modern town that people call the Switzerland of Morocco because of its European style.

Then you stop in Azrou, where you can see cedar forests and maybe wild monkeys. After lunch in Midelt, you continue driving through mountains and valleys until you reach Merzouga.

In the afternoon, you will ride camels into the desert dunes. It is a special experience, especially during sunset when the sand becomes golden. At night, you stay in a desert camp, enjoy traditional food, music, and sleep under the stars.

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, ride camels back to Merzouga. Drive to Todra Gorge, a deep canyon with high cliffs. Enjoy a walk in the gorge before continuing to Dades Valley. Overnight stay in a local hotel.

Today you travel through amazing landscapes towards Marrakech. First, you pass through the Dades Valley and continue to Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Morocco because many movies were filmed there.

Then you visit Ait Ben Haddou, a famous old kasbah and UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a very beautiful place made of clay and looks like a movie set.

After that, you cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka pass. The road is full of amazing views. In the evening, you arrive in Marrakech and stay in a riad.

Today you explore Marrakech, a city full of life and culture. You will visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs.

Then you walk through the souks where you find spices, clothes, and handmade products. Finally, you visit Jemaa el-Fnaa square, which is very lively with street performers, food stalls, and music. You spend the night in your riad.

On the last day, depending on your flight time, you may have some free time to walk in the city or do some shopping.
